Board Responsibility: Web Manager
Working closely with the Secretary, I help manage the GFCNA website which includes the public-facing pages, event publication, and member's only content.
Tell us about your family: Grady, my husband, and I have been together since 10th grade. He was in my study hall that year. Our paths have meandered through many countries and states during his Air Force career and since. We have two adult children, two grandchildren (and a third one the way!), and two four-legged furry children that bark.
Tell us about your current work/ministry: As a nurse informaticist I help support the various aspects of the electronic health record at Athens Regional Health System. My FCN ministry is in its infancy. I completed the Foundations course in 2014 and since that date have been educating the faith communities in my county of this ministry.
Why is FCN important to you? There is not a day that goes by that I am not reminded of how blessed I am to have been raised in a family who promoted physical, mental, and spiritual health. Christ's ministry was totally devoted to these three aspects of our humanity. Residents of Madison county have some of the lowest health outcomes in the State of Georgia. I am acutely aware of the need for those who surround me to be encouraged as they seek ways to improve their health. My goal is to point others to the Great Physician who cares deeply about their wellness, while increasing their health and spiritual literacy using tools relevant to them. GFCNA provides the resources needed to do this through mentoring and various tool kits.
